We can walk from Kennin-ji to Kiyomizu-dera. Shall we take the lively route through Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka?

They say that if you fall on Ninenzaka, you will die within two years, and if you fall on Sannenzaka, within three. So watch your step.

This area, known as Toribeno, was once a burial ground. People used to think of it as a place a little closer to the next world.
